目标及特色
This course aims to help students of upper-intermediate level of proficiency or above to produce well-supported and coherent writing for academic purposes. The course also offers training in critical reading through a variety of authentic text, including extracts from fiction, essays by contemporary authors, and features from leading newspapers and magazines.
Upon completing the course, students are expected to achieve the following goals:
-to master the essay organization
-to describe a process, compare and contrast, and argue in a 5-Paragraph essay
-to enhance precision in collocation
-To read authentic text as a writer
-To enhance cultural literary and critical thinking through reading

Socratic seminar on reading; lectures on skills and topics; simulation activities; peer review; in-class activities; collaborative writing; one-on-one consultation

1 Materials will be prepared by the instructor and distributed in class
抵免科目：2022年暑期修习「进阶英语听力与口说」与「进阶英语阅读与写作」，修毕且成绩及格者，此两门课程合计可申请抵免选修英文：阅读与口语训练，计3学分
