目標及特色
Course Objectives:
This intensive course aims to develop upper-intermediate English learners’ reading and writing skills. The course covers essential reading strategies, reading and writing connection, and paragraph structure. Students will develop their ability as critical readers and writers through lectures, videos, pair/group discussions, and reading and writing practices. 

Upon completing the course, students are expected to:
•    develop advanced reading strategies, including skimming, scanning, and critical reading for main ideas, supporting details, and inference
•    expand academic vocabulary and recognize key rhetorical structures common in academic and informational texts
•    write clear, organized, and coherent paragraphs using appropriate academic conventions
•    summarize, paraphrase, and synthesize information from multiple sources effectively
•    apply critical thinking skills to both reading comprehension and written expression

Lectures on skills and topics; videos; individual and group presentation; in-class pair/group work; peer review; collaborative writing activities; one-on-one consultation

Materials will be prepared by the instructor and posted online.

抵免科目：2025年暑期修習「英語聽力與口說」與「英語閱讀與寫作」，修畢且成績及格者，此兩門課程合計可申請抵免大學英文（一），計3學分。
