目標及特色
This intensive course helps upper-intermediate English learners improve their academic and real-world speaking and listening skills. Using podcasts, TED Talks, interviews, and news reports, students will develop strategies for active listening, critical thinking, and fluent communication. Students will participate in interviews, discussions, debates, and short presentations while practicing coherence, persuasion, and structured speaking. By the end of the course, students will be able to confidently engage in academic discussions and deliver organized, impactful presentations.
By the end of the course, students will be able to:
- - listen actively for specific information, tone, main ideas, speaker intent, and rhetorical structures across diverse
- real-world and academic contexts.
- - apply critical listening skills to evaluate source credibility, detect bias, and distinguish fact from opinion
- - express themselves clearly and appropriately in various speaking tasks
- - understand and apply contrastive examples, anecdotes, and persuasive techniques (logos, pathos, ethos) in
- both receptive and productive tasks
- - develop confidence and fluency in delivering structured short talks, storytelling, discussions, and final
- presentations with appropriate use of sequencing and linking expressions.

抵免科目:2025年暑期修習「英語聽力與口說」與「英語閱讀與寫作」,修畢且成績及格者,此兩門課程合計可申請抵免大學英文(一),計3學分。
